Filters are commonly used in CATV networks. Some of them are used especially to protect the network from electrical and electromagnetic interference, others to split the bandwidth. High pass filters, for example, are used to isolate the subscriber area from the return network. Diplex filters are used to separate forward and return path. Double windows filters limit the provisioning of certain services from cable-operators to the subscriber. Dinh-Telecom has amassed a lot of experience designing filters for customers’ particular equipment needs and offers a diverse array of high-performance filters and isolators for direct use on networks.
Attenuators are passive components used to limit the optical power in a link. When the signal input level for the TV-set or at an amplifier is too high, interference will occur. To avoid these problems, attenuators are placed equally throughout the CATV network to reduce the signal level within the band for which they are rated. Dinh-Telecom’s professional attenuators are available in 2 ranges: fixed value and variable. Different housings are available most of the time with F-female and F-male ports so that they can easily be inserted into the network.
